This policy explains what BorderPing collects, why it is used, how long it is kept, and your choices. BorderPing does not sell personal information.
1. Information we process
Contact messages may include your name, email, topic and message. Community reports include the selected platform, country, result and time. A one-way daily fingerprint helps prevent duplicates; the raw IP address is not stored in the report. Hosting providers may temporarily process technical and security logs.
2. How and why we use it
We use information to answer messages, investigate results, improve classifications, secure the service, prevent abuse and meet legal obligations. Processing relies on consent, legitimate interests, requested steps or applicable law.
3. Retention and sharing
Contact correspondence and individual community reports are normally retained for up to 24 months. Non-identifying aggregates may be kept longer. Hosting, security and Google Workspace providers process limited data under their safeguards, including lawful international transfers.
4. Your rights
Depending on your location, you may request access, correction, deletion, restriction, objection or portability, withdraw consent, or complain to a data-protection authority. We may verify your identity.
5. Security and children
We use encrypted transport, access controls, validation and data minimisation. Do not send passwords or identity documents. BorderPing is not directed to children under 16.
6. Changes
We may update this policy when the service or law changes. Material changes will carry a revised effective date.
7. Advertising and preferences
We count aggregate ad impressions and clicks without creating a behavioural advertising profile. Your language choice is stored locally in your browser. Hosting services may retain limited technical and security logs.
